What does God's Design say about our health?

These seven principles of Kingdom Health show us what God's design says about our health.

We are triune beings: spirit, soul, and body.

God designed our bodies to always work to stay in homeostasis.

God designed our bodies to operate on the nutrients in whole foods and fresh water.

Our physical, emotional and mental health are directly linked to the health of our organs and tissues.

Energy can neither be created nor destroyed.

Because homeostasis is maintained by feedback loops to your brain, the key to winning the battle for health is the renewing of your mind.

God has provided all of the tools and weapons we need to win the battle for health in the war for souls.

What does the Bible say about our health?

These are the 7 basic principles of Kingdom Health.

  1. God wants us to be healthy. (3 John 2)

    • 3 John 2 - Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.​

  2. God wants us to seek Him for health restoration, and He wants us to LET Him heal us.

    • Jeremiah 30:17 - For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds,’ says the Lord, ‘Because they called you an outcast saying: “This is Zion; No one seeks her.” ’

  3. As temples of God's Holy Spirit, individually and corporately, we have a responsibility to care for ourselves accordingly. 

    • 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 - Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

  4. Our health is health of spirit, body, and soul (mind, will, emotions); they cannot be separated. 

    • Psalm 38:3 - There is no soundness in my flesh because of Your anger, nor any health in my bones because of my sin.

    • Proverbs 14:30 - A sound heart is life to the body, but envy is rottenness to the bones.

  5. God's design of our bodies and the earth shows us how to be healthy. 

    • Exodus 25:8-9 8 And let them make Me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them. According to all that I show you, that is, the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all its furnishings, just so you shall make it.

  6. The battle for health is the battle for the will, but it is fought and won in the mind. 

    • 2 Corinthians 3:16 - Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.

    • Romans 12:2 - And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

  7. Satan will attack our health to make us less effective in the war for souls and prevent us from living the abundant life promised by our Lord Jesus Christ.

    • John 10:10 - The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
